The boom of the so-called Web 2.0 at the end of the XX century provoked a substantial positive impact on education and TEFL wasn’t the exception. First of all, in my opinion, it was a revolution that somehow affected all humanity. From daily live aspects to the most diverse fields of knowledge, everything was reconstructed. Moreover, the use of the internet and digital resources for educational purposes has pushed teachers and learners to higher-level communicative skills, (Bloom, J. 1954, in EcT, 2022 ) Even though some people still think that learning a language has to do mainly with books, we may say nowadays (and considering the terrific footprint of the Web 2.0 in the field of TEFL) that this is quite an old-fashioned perspective. To sum up, I believe that the evolution of technology gives us the opportunity to create and explore new bridges of knowledge.
